Oh, I’ll still feel the exhaustion and the pain of loss that winter left in boxes stacked high to the ceiling of my soul but I know how I’ll respond. In the midst of pain, it’s really difficult to forgive and rise above it, and it’s often only in retrospect that one can see the lesson and feel stronger for it. There’s always something of beauty and the goodness and courage of human nature that rides alongside. It’s possible to have one of the best days ever followed by one of the worst. I’m not talking about things-going-your-way bad or good days; I’m talking about emotional wellbeing – being able to effectively cope with the ups and downs of life.
